Today
What needs you today, in one timeline, and how to act on it.

In the web app
Today lives on Headquarters, your home in zonask; the old Today address opens it there.
Above Today, Headquarters greets you with the date, shows Continue your setup. while a setup step is missing, and Your daily brief; beside it, or below it on a phone, Waiting for you, Roles at a glance with today's open emails per role, and cards for Inbox, Calendar, Tasks and Expenses, each with its number.
Agents in the last 24 hours shows up to eight recent agent runs, newest first, with the outcome, cost and a link to the output. Its first line shows this month's agent spend against the cap, or says when no cap is set. See all runs opens Runs. You can hide or move this card with Arrange.
Today shows what needs you today across all your roles: the emails that need you, today's calendar events and your open tasks.
Needs you lists each email that needs you with its reason, a one-line summary, the sender and Open in Gmail.
New today lists the day's other emails, newest first.
The timeline puts events and tasks in time order with a line for the current time, and an overdue task shows Overdue.
When nothing is open, Today says Nothing needs you.
Times follow your browser's time zone.
Act on an email
On a sorted email, press Done, Not for me or Snooze; a snoozed email comes back after three hours.
These buttons change nothing in Gmail and send nothing.
zonask learns from them: after three of the same for one sender it asks whether to always do that, see Learning.
The box Ask or tell zonask… is the assistant.
Approvals
While something waits for your yes, Today shows Approvals with how many wait and the link Open approvals.
The Approvals page lists, newest first, the runs of your standing orders, the suggestions of rules and the assistant plans that wait, each with its source, role and age.
Press Approve or Reject on one; it is answered as the same card on Today or the Rules page answers it, and a run that waits for its draft can only be rejected.
The page shows the newest 50; while more wait, Show more at its end shows the next 50 as well.
Later on a proposal keeps it waiting until 07:00 of the next working day under Later at the bottom of the page; answers from a push, with one word in Claude or ChatGPT, and meeting slots are on Yes everywhere.
An assistant plan with a calendar block names the calendar it goes into, Into: … calendar, and the calendars that get a private Busy copy.
The calendar starts as the role's own calendar; choose another of your calendars set to My calendar under Calendar for the block before you press Approve, and the block goes there.
When an approved plan added its calendar block but could not finish, the plan shows Could not finish: undo the block; press Undo the block to remove that block.
When nothing waits, the page says Nothing waits for your approval.
Birthdays and important dates
zonask takes birthdays from the birthday events of your connected Google Calendar; it does not read your Google Contacts.
Each birthday zonask has seen in your calendar is remembered in your list of important dates, with its name, month and day and no year, so it stays there after it has left the calendar's next two weeks.
On one of today's events, press Mark important to make it an important date, and Important to take the mark away; a birthday has no such button.
Coming up lists your birthdays and important dates of today and the next six days, each with Today, Tomorrow or its weekday and date, and Birthday or Important.
It also lists the dates you added to your list yourself, also when no account is connected, and a birthday that is both in your calendar and in your list shows once.
All dates, beside the heading, opens the list of the whole year.
While 09:00 of the day before is still ahead, a date offers Remind me the day before.
Press it, then Add task, and zonask adds one task "Tomorrow: …" due at 09:00 the day before, and the date shows Reminder set; Cancel adds nothing.
The task of a date you added goes to that date's role; a date without a role gets its task in your first role, because every task belongs to a role.
Your list of important dates
Important dates shows every birthday and date of the year, the next one first, under a heading for each month; open it with All dates on Today or under Setup, Settings.
Each date shows its name, its day and month, its role, Birthday or Date, and From Google or Added by you.
A date on the 29th of February shows on the 28th in a year without a leap day.
To add one, fill in Label, Day, Month and Kind, choose a role if you want one, and press Add date; a label has at most 80 characters, and zonask stores no year, address, phone number or note.
Edit changes the label and the role of a date you added, and only the role of a date from Google.
Remind me sets how early zonask reminds you of a date: Off, 1 day before, 2 days before, 3 days before, 1 week before or 2 weeks before; a date you add starts at 3 days before, and a birthday from Google starts with none until you choose one under Edit.
A date with a reminder says so, for example Reminder 3 days before.
When that day comes, zonask adds one task "Wishes for …" due at 09:00 on the date itself, in the date's role, before your daily brief; you see it on Today and in your tasks like any other task, and no email or notification is sent for it.
On the dates list or an open Wishes for … task, choose Draft a message to open the assistant with a suggested question. Edit it if you like, then press Send; the link itself sends nothing. Use Copy on the answer to put its text on your clipboard.
If you delete or finish that task, it does not come back for the same date; next year's date gets a new one. A muted date gets none.
Mute for a year takes the next occurrence of a date out of Coming up and the morning summary: the date then says Muted until with the day after it, and Unmute brings it back.
Delete, then Delete again, removes a date you added; Cancel keeps it.
A birthday from Google has no Delete and says "Comes from your Google calendar. Mute it, or remove it there."; zonask never changes your Google Calendar.
You can keep up to 500 dates.
The morning summary lists a date of your list when it has a role.
Delete all my data removes your list of important dates with everything else.
Who you meet
When an event of today has attendees zonask knows as people, its row shows one line such as "With Anna Muster (acme.ch), last contact … , 1 open promise", with the date of your last contact.
For this zonask keeps only fingerprints of the attendees' addresses, never their addresses, names or the event's description.
Before this meeting
Such an event can also open Before this meeting: who you meet, their organisation, your last contact with them, and what you still owe each other in both directions, each person and each commitment a link.
This is computed each time the page opens; nothing is stored, and zonask never joins, records or transcribes the meeting itself.
After this meeting
An event that has started can open After this meeting: paste or speak your notes, press Find what was agreed, untick what you do not want and press Create the ticked items.
zonask does not keep your notes, and nothing is created that you did not tick; People describes the steps.
The recap is off until it is switched on for your zonask.
In Claude or ChatGPT

Ask, for example, "Here are my notes from the 14:00, what did we agree?": recap_meeting answers with the tasks, promises and decisions it found and creates nothing until you say which ones.
