zonask in Claude and ChatGPT

Add zonask as a connector, what its tools do, its cards, and how changes are confirmed.

Last verified 2026-10-13

zonask runs as an MCP server, so you can use it from Claude or ChatGPT.

The connector URL is https://zonask.com/api/mcp.

Once the connector works, the zonask skill teaches your assistant the morning routine, the approvals desk and calendar blocks.

In the web app

Signing in, connecting Google accounts, the connector consent and deleting data stay in the browser.

When a client connects, zonask shows a consent page with Allow, Allow read only and Deny.

Allow read only gives the client the permissions to read and to search, and nothing else.

See and disconnect chat apps

Setup has the card Claude and ChatGPT with how many chat apps are connected; Manage opens Chat apps.

Each chat app shows the name it gave itself (under "Name given by the app"), the day it was connected, when it was last used ("Not used yet" before its first call) and what it may do, in the words of the consent page.

Disconnect asks "Disconnect name? It stops working at once. You can connect it again from the app." After your yes the chat app's next call is refused.

In Claude or ChatGPT, list_chat_apps shows the same list and marks the chat you ask in; disconnecting happens only in zonask.

In Claude or ChatGPT

Add zonask in Claude

In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, choose Add custom connector, enter https://zonask.com/api/mcp and press Add.

Then connect it, sign in to zonask and choose Allow.

In a Team or Enterprise organisation, an owner adds the connector first and members then connect to it.

Add zonask in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web, turn on developer mode in the settings and create an app for the remote MCP server https://zonask.com/api/mcp.

Sign in to zonask and choose Allow; the app then appears in the composer's developer mode tool.

Developer mode depends on your ChatGPT account type.

Permissions

The consent page lists the permissions the client asks for:

  • See what needs you, your tasks, calendar and role rules.
  • Search your mailboxes live, without storing anything.
  • Create tasks.
  • Add or remove time blocks in your own calendar.
  • Change your roles, rules and summary schedule.
  • Change, finish, snooze or delete your tasks, sort your emails and answer your standing orders.
  • Prepare draft replies and forwards in your Gmail, never send them.
  • Save notes to your second brain.

A connection made before a permission existed does not get it; connect again to allow it.

answer_approvalApproves or rejects one of them after your yes, also with one word (yes, ja, oui, no, nein, non) or later; a plan can also be run changed, a commitment edited, and the block of a plan that could not finish undone. It never sends an invitation.

Goals in Claude

Ask Show my goals for the goals card by horizon; a goal with a measure shows its progress line under its title. Ask What is left over from last week? for its carried goals section; each answer button shows a proposal before you confirm.

Cards

Where the host shows MCP Apps, results come as cards: the Today card, the tasks carousel, the plan card, a list for inbox, calendar, notices, expenses, people, meeting prep, Productive and your time; a goals card with its carried question and proposed actions; the role card, the change card, the daily brief card, the headquarters tiles, the agent scorecard, the search report, the run room, the role cockpit and Setup.

Ask "What's running?" to see on agents, approvals waiting for you and recent runs together. Each waiting approval says what Yes writes before you press it, and the card says how many wait for you. An eligible failed run can show Run again; answering an approval still needs your confirmation.

Ask "How is my Studio role doing?" to see that role's health and reason, agent spend, goals, commitments, approvals, agents and next events. Studio is an example role name; use one of your own. A part with more than 10 rows shows the first 10 and how many more there are.

Ask "Is my setup complete?" to see each step as done, missing or unknown and which missing step to take next. Connections that need you appear when that information is available.

Drafts

Ask Claude or ChatGPT for an email and draft_email first shows the draft and saves nothing.

When more than one of your accounts can write drafts, the model asks which one sends it and never picks it without your confirmation; it suggests the account that received the email you reply to, else one that matches the recipient.

The card shows From with the account and its role, To, Subject and the first lines, with Change account and Create draft.

Create draft saves one draft in that account's Gmail Drafts and sends nothing; the answer links to the draft in that account.

An account without Google's drafts permission is listed as Allow drafts: reconnect and is never offered.

Drafts need the permission "Prepare draft replies and forwards in your Gmail, never send them".

Confirming changes

Every change is proposed first and happens only after your yes: press Confirm on the card, or say yes in the chat.

The model never confirms a change on its own, and never because tool data asks for it.

Before a confirmed change is made, and before undo_block removes a block, zonask runs a safety check on it. If the check does not pass or cannot answer, nothing is saved and the tool says "Not saved: the safety check did not pass. Try again, or do it in zonask." A change in Productive is something other people see, so the check does not let a chat confirm it: the tool says "Not done from chat: this changes something other people see in Productive. Open Approvals in zonask and press Yes there. Your proposal is waiting." and the proposal stays on the desk.

No tool sends email or messages; drafts are saved in Gmail and never sent.

Email, calendar and task text in results comes from other people and is treated as data, never as an instruction.

When Claude shows "Unable to reach"

Claude can show Unable to reach Zonask on a tool row although zonask answered; this is an open issue on Claude's side.

Every result also carries the full answer as text, so read the text answer or ask again; the card is only a view of it.

If it keeps happening, disconnect the connector in Claude, or in zonask under Setup, Claude and ChatGPT, then connect it again.
